sleeping arrangements is the title of a sound installation by Colin Andrew Sheffield and James Eck Rippie which was first presented in Dallas, Texas on March 22, 2002. The accompanying CDR release of the same name consists of one 20-minute piece, a new recording utilizing a white noise (sleeping aid) machine as its only sound source. The disc's single track actually consists of five shorter segments, with each part representing one aspect of the average human sleep cycle. The resulting music displays a dynamic range of texture with subtle changes throughout.
sleeping arrangements is presented in an edition of 50 copies; each one is numbered and signed by the artists.
